"I lost my 360 Booth Remote" - What Now?

About 4 years ago during an event. We came on time, we set up everything including lights, stanchions, red carpet and alles. When it was time to test the booth we discover both remotes are missing. Mind you this is 30 minutes before the event. The stress and panic kicked in. The sweat dripped in places we cannot mention here. Unfortunately we had to cancel the gig and pack up, resulting in refunding the client and losing the client forever. Losing or breaking the remote for your 360 photo booth can be frustrating (trust me i know), but it’s a fixable problem.

Most 360 booths come with a universal remote option or are compatible with third-party replacements. I wanted to write this article to hopefully help you if you encounter a similar issue. Also take note that if you do have a remote and it doesnt spin your booth, youre likely running low on batteries. Yes the red signal light on the remote may turn on when pressing a button however without sufficiently charged batteries the signal wont reach your receiver on the booth. In this situation, head to your local shop and get new batteries before considering buying a new 360 booth remote

Step 1: Determine the Compatibility of the New Remote

Before purchasing a new remote, verify that it is compatible with your specific 360 booth model. Most use either radio or bluetooth communication. We sell only radio controlled 360 booths. Consult your booth’s user manual or contact the manufacturer for details about remote compatibility. Look for remotes that operate on the same frequency or Bluetooth protocol as your booth. Most radio controlled 360 booths operate at 315Mhz

Popular Options for Replacement Remotes:

  • Replacement remoted like the ones we sell

  • Manufacturer-specific remotes if available

  • Smartphone apps (some booths offer remote-control apps as an alternative)

Step 2: Acquire the Replacement Remote

You can purchase a replacement remote from:

  • The manufacturer’s website or authorized dealers like ourselves

  • Online marketplaces like Amazon, eBay, or specialized photography stores

  • Local electronics stores that carry remote control accessories

When ordering, ensure the remote includes pairing instructions or comes with clear setup guidelines.

Step 3: Prepare Your Booth and Remote for Pairing

  1. Power Off the Booth: Turn off your 360 booth and unplug it to reset any ongoing connections. This ensures a clean pairing process.

  2. Charge or Install Batteries in the Remote: Ensure the new remote has fresh batteries or is fully charged before use.

  3. Locate the Power Button on the remote: Check your booth remote for the power button and light on the remote when you press it.

Step 4: Pair the Remote with the Booth

The pairing process may vary based on the type of booth and remote, but here are general steps for RADIO CONTROLLED BOOTHS:

  1. Activate Pairing Mode on the Booth: Turn on your booth and immediately during the first 10 seconds your booth is on active pairing mode and is able to accept new connections

  2. Pair with remote: Press and hold the power button on the remote during those first 10 seconds. Do not let go of the power button until the booth starts moving. Repeat the action if unsuccessful the first time

  3. Test the Connection: Once paired, use the remote to start and stop the booth’s rotation or trigger any features to confirm functionality.

Step 5: Troubleshooting Common Issues

  • The Remote Doesn’t Pair:

    • Ensure the booth and remote are powered on.

    • Confirm compatibility between the booth and the remote.

    • When batteries are low or dead, the will be no pairing

  • Delayed or Unresponsive Commands:

    • Replace the batteries or charge the remote.

    • Check for interference from nearby devices operating on the same frequency (315Mhz).

  • Booth Settings Are Incorrect:

    • Refer to the booth’s manual to reset its settings or recalibrate the motor.

Step 6: Explore Alternative Solutions

If you cannot pair a new remote or prefer not to purchase one:

  • Use a Smartphone App: Some 360 booths offer companion apps that can replicate the functionality of a remote. Check the app store for the manufacturer’s application.

  • Replace Receiver: Attached to the 360 booth is a receiver for your remote signal. That may have been damaged and needs replacement.

Preventing Future Issues

  1. Keep a Spare Remote: Always have a backup remote in case of loss or damage.

  2. Store Remotes Safely: Dedicate a secure space to store your remote after use.

  3. Utilize Smartphone Controls: If available, regularly practice using your booth’s smartphone app for added convenience.

Replacing and pairing a new remote for your 360 photo booth is straightforward if you follow these steps. With a compatible replacement and proper pairing, you’ll have your booth back in action, ensuring your events continue to create memorable experiences!
